About ATLAS Testing

ATLAS, or Arkansas Teaching and Learning Assessment System, provides information about Arkansas student mastery of the college and career readiness, academic, and language proficiency standards.

The ATLAS test is generally administered in the spring.

Arkansas elementary students in grades 3-5 must complete assessments in English language arts, mathematics, and science.

How Do You Prepare for ATLAS?

Identify Problem Areas

Regular assessments of standards-aligned material can help students make up knowledge gaps ahead of ATLAS testing.

Employ Targeted Intervention

Create individual study and practice testing in students’ weak areas.

Practice Testing

Help students get more comfortable sitting for testing windows and answering questions. Progress Learning can help by providing standards aligned practice to help students prepare for testing.

Important Arkansas Standardized Test Notes

Arkansas middle school students took the ACT Aspire exam. The state switched to Atlas exams in Spring 2024. Students in grade 8 may take the end-of-course Algebra I exam in place of the mathematics assessment if they are enrolled in the course at the end of the year.
