What Is Progress Learning?

About MAAP Testing

The Mississippi Academic Assessment Program (MAAP) is a statewide assessment program that measures how well students have mastered Mississippi College-and Career-Readiness standards.

For elementary school students, the MAAP assessments are given in the Spring. For the 2024-2025 school year, they will take place between March 31st and May 16th.

In elementary school, the MAAP is administered in grades 3-5 ELAR and Math, and 5th grade science.

How Do You Prepare for MAAP?

Start by reviewing the sample items, practice tests, and test blueprints on mdek12.org to understand the test’s content and structure. Then, create your own questions and assessments to help students with the topic they need to study. Progress Learning makes specific MS CCR aligned practice and exam review easy with a variety of tools for teachers, including a comprehensive assessment and assignment builder.

For elementary educators, your approach to MAAP test prep may vary by student and subject. Consider forming small groups, incorporating gamification into your instruction, or scheduling daily practice time to keep students engaged. By tailoring your teaching strategy to your students, you will improve their CCRS mastery and boost their MAAP performance.

What Are Customers in Mississippi Saying About Progress Learning?

Educator in Mississippi

"This is one of a very few programs to align to our MS standards so specifically. The data we receive from our assignments and assessments allows us to make FURTHER assignments based on the needs shown through the program’s “Dot” system. This dot system is an easy visual for both teachers and students, as it shows color-coded areas of strengths and weaknesses. With the click of a button, you can assign the top 3 weakest areas to individual students."
