The End-of-Course Examination Program (EOCEP) is a statewide assessment program that measures how well high school students have mastered academic standards in specific gateway courses. These tests make up 20% of the student’s final grade in the course.
South Carolina’s EOCEP assessments are administered online. Paper exams are administered only in certain situation for students with specific accommodations.
For high school students, EOCEP exams must not begin earlier than the last 15 instructional days of the semester or school year, except for the English 2 writing section which must not begin more than 20 days before the end of semester or school year. The reading and writing sections can’t be administered on the same day.
